Event Information

Walk to Cure Arthritis is the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide signature event that unites communities across the country to put an end to arthritis. We aren't just helping the millions of people with arthritis to live better; we're charting the course to a cure.

Old School Forest Preserve - Shelter C

Please follow signs to Shelter C and park in the lot directly adjacent to the shelter.

Event Schedule

Saturday, May 18, 2024

  • 8:30 a.m. - Day of Registration/Check-in Opens
    • Expo/Sponsor Area Opens
    • Team Tents ready for Team Tailgate gatherings
  • 9:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremonies
  • 10:00 a.m. – Walk to Cure Arthritis!
    • Expo/Sponsor Area remains open
  • 11:00 a.m. - Walkers are welcomed back to Expo/Vendor area
  • 11:15 a.m. – Closing Ceremonies

Want to be a Walk VIP? If your team raises $2,000 by May 8th, we will provide you with a tent, table, and 2 chairs where your team can meet up and hang out at the Walk. We are also working on special treats for your team to enjoy in the Team Tailgate area. This is a perk reserved for our top fundraising teams, and we hope to see you in the Team Tailgate area.

Event Details

  • Routes: There are two options – 1 mile or 5K (3.1 miles). But in all honesty, many people come to the event for the fun and festivities and don’t walk at all!
  • Things To Do: We have lots of fun activities for all ages. Activities will include sponsor booths, music, outdoor lawn games (think ring toss and giant Jenga), a tattoo parlor, and more! We also will have arthritis information and resources available at the event.
  • Food: We will have bagels, fruit, granola bars, chips, water, and more!
  • Registration for the event is free. We encourage everyone to fundraise, and each walker who raises $100 will get a participant T-shirt. You may also qualify for other great prizes as you continue to fundraise. View Rewards
  • Dogs: We will have a Canine Corner at the event with water and treats for our furry friends. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
