 Lisa and her family moved to Colorado in 2012. Originally from Pennsylvania, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She was commissioned as an officer through ROTC and served eight years as an Air Force nurse in the US, Japan, and Italy. She earned her graduate degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. She has experience in primary care, pulmonology, and perioperative nursing, but has found her passion in pediatric rheumatology at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. She is grateful to be the medical honoree for this year’s Jingle Bell Run in Denver.

Emma moved to Colorado from Minnesota in 2018 to attend the University of Denver and to skate competitively with the University's Figure Skating team. Emma experienced joint issues mainly in her knees and ankles, which was thought to be from an active lifestyle and figure skating. After years of bouncing between pediatric rheumatology and orthopedics, she eventually received an official diagnosis of juvenile arthritis.
Elsa was born and raised in Boulder CO and is currently a senior at Fairview High School. She was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) at 2 years old that affects her knees. She has gone through many procedures and types of medications. She is now an accomplished dressage rider (equestrian sport) and enjoys spending her time skiing and biking. Her first experience with the Arthritis Foundation was at the Colorado JA camp. She now works with the Foundation through the Junior Ambassador Program and is extremely passionate about advocacy. In September she attended her first Arthritis Foundation Summit in Washington DC, where she had the chance to meet with legislators on Capitol Hill.
