Emma Christensen
Juvenile Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Emma moved to Colorado from Minnesota in 2018 to attend the University of Denver and to skate competitively with the University's Figure Skating team. Emma experienced joint issues mainly in her knees and ankles, which was thought to be from an active lifestyle and figure skating. After years of bouncing between pediatric rheumatology and orthopedics, she eventually received an official diagnosis of juvenile arthritis.

Her journey with the Arthritis Foundation began through her mother's AOII philanthropy days at Montana State. From a young age, Emma volunteered and interned with the Arthritis Foundation of Minnesota throughout high school and college and is excited to continue volunteering with the Colorado chapter.
