Fundraising & Donations

Is there a fundraising minimum?
Registration for the event is free. We encourage everyone to fundraise, and each walker who individually raises $100 will get a participant T-shirt. You may also qualify for other great prizes as you continue to fundraise.

How to Fundraise

  • Register and a fundraising webpage will be created just for you.
  • Form a team to engage others to join the movement to create a world free from Arthritis pain. A team is a great way to connect a group of co-workers, friends, family members, or anyone who wants to make a difference.
  • Make an online donation to your fundraising efforts and start on the right track.
  • If you've already registered, log in to your Fundraiser Dashboard and ask at least five friends to donate and join you!

In the Fundraiser Dashboard, you can:

  • Personalize your fundraising page
  • Email friends, family, and coworkers
  • Start a Facebook Fundraiser and supercharge your fundraising
  • Watch your fundraising progress grow and thank your donors

The #1 reason people give is that someone asks. You raise money when you ask for it, so ask everyone you know!

Ask personally: Share your own story, not just statistics. Connect with your donors personally by sharing why you are participating.

Ask everyone: And we mean everyone! Your neighbors, classmates, colleagues, clients, grocer, hairdresser – everyone you know or come across.

Ask big: If you ask someone for $100, you might get $100, or maybe you’ll get $75 or $50. Set the bar high and raise as much as you can.

Ask confidently: You’re not asking for money for yourself. You’re asking to help find new and better treatments – and a cure for arthritis.

Where does the money I raise go?
Everyone can make a difference in the battle to conquer arthritis. Through your support, the arthritis community nationwide will gain access to tools and resources to better manage their disease and the opportunity to connect with others who are also fighting this disease. There are more than 100 types of arthritis but no cures yet. Your donation will make an impact through research to find better treatments and a cure for this painful disease.

How do I donate to someone online?
To make an online donation, follow these steps: 1) Click the "Donate" button in the center of the page under the banner 2) Search for the person you want to support by name; 3) Select donate next to the person's name you’d like to support

To whom do I make checks payable?
Make checks payable to the Arthritis Foundation.
