Craig S. Mauro, MD Medical Honoree Craig S. Mauro, MD, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at UPMC, as well as a fellowship in sports medicine, with a focus on hip arthroscopy, at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He was awarded an AO trauma fellowship in Salzburg, Austria, and completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction in Munich, Germany. Dr. Mauro is a team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers and previously served as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is the Associate Program Director of the UPMC Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship training program and serves as an Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Mauro serves as a reviewer for multiple journals and has published more than 40 articles and book chapters. He has been named to Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Best Doctors” each year since 2013. |
