Roald Llado, MD
Ortho Rhode Island
Medical Honoree

A fellowship-trained orthopedic total joint surgeon, Dr. Llado focuses his practice on management of general orthopedic conditions and fractures, reconstruction of fractures around prosthetic hip and knee implants, and hip and knee replacement surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures. He has received advanced training in the less invasive direct anterior total hip replacement, a muscle-sparing technique that potentially allows for earlier recovery. Dr. Llado is committed to listening to the needs and goals of each and every patient, and providing the finest individualized orthopedic care. He believes in having open discussions about disease processes and setting appropriate expectations for obtaining optimal outcome

Andrea
Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Around age 11, Andrea began experiencing undiagnosed pains throughout her body. By 24, frustration led her to a rheumatologist who diagnosed her with severe juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). Two years and a 1,000-miles later, she was able to start her journey with biologics. Facing physical and emotional hurdles for 25 years, including a dark period from age 35-38, Andrea is now helping others navigate their RA-life. As a speaker, educator, course creator, and certified DreamBuilder life coach, she empowers individuals to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams. Additionally, she's excelled as an athletic trainer at RIC and cherishes her role as an aunt.

Maggie
Juvenile Psoriatic Arthritis
JA Honoree

Maggie is a kind, vibrant 17-year-old from North Attleboro, MA. She was diagnosed with juvenile psoriatic arthritis at 15 years old, but has had psoriasis since age 9. Some of the symptoms of her arthritis are joint pain, stiffness, and fatigue. Despite these challenges, she is still able to do what she loves, which is dance. Maggie has been dancing for 13 years and not only takes dance classes and competes, but also shares her love for dance by helping teach young dancers at the studio. Maggie was inspired to be a part of Walk to Cure Arthritis to raise awareness of juvenile arthritis!
