2024 Walk to Cure Arthritis Honorees

Hollie Matties and Jodi Zimmerman
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Adult Honorees

Jodi and Hollie have been close friends since they met in college back in 2000. They have both been living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for over 10 years now.

Jodi started experiencing symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis during her teenage years, noticing stiffness and inflammation in her knees. In 2009, after a visit to the Mayo Clinic, she received a formal diagnosis.

Hollie's journey with rheumatoid arthritis began a decade ago when she woke up one morning with swollen, hot fingers that persisted for a week. Given her family history with arthritis (her grandpa), she visited the doctor to investigate further, leading to her diagnosis.

Despite the challenges, both Jodi and Hollie have been able to manage their symptoms with medications, allowing them to stay active and fully engage with their children.
