Mary Jo
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Adult Honoree

After a year of searching for answers, Mary Jo was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) at the age of seven. Despite painful flares, she was determined to participate in activities that defy the JIA odds. This determination earned her the opportunity to play D1 collegiate volleyball. Today Mary Jo continues to raise standards as she trains and competes as a hybrid athlete. She’s forever grateful to the Arthritis Foundation for providing resources and access to this community of remarkable and inspiring people. Mary Jo: “Do it for those who can’t & lead the way for those who can.”

Nora Bacchus
Juvenile Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Nora Bacchus is a 15-year-old freshman in high school and is so excited to be the youth honoree for the 2024 Walk to Cure Arthritis! Nora is passionate about school, her friendships, travel, and dreaming of what’s beyond high school. Nora was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis when she was nine years old and has had to adapt to living life with a chronic illness. She does this with grace and bravery, despite the challenges of balancing medications, physical and occupational therapies, doctor appointments, lab draws, and so much more. And pain—at the heart of it all, it’s living with chronic pain. Please join Nora on April 27 at High Street for the 2024 Walk to Cure Arthritis as we join to together in hopes for finding a cure..
