Eliana
Systemic Juvenile
Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Meet Eliana, a sweet and caring 6-year-old who faced a tough journey with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SJIA). For months, she struggled with mysterious pain, inflammation, fatigue, and weight loss. Eventually, she stopped walking, and inflammation began to affect her organs. Eliana was admitted to the hospital. After bravely undergoing numerous tests, the wonderful doctors at HMH Hovnanian Children's Hospital at JSUMC diagnosed and treated her SJIA. With long-term treatment, Eliana's symptoms subsided, and she's thriving in remission! She loves dancing, tumbling, and cheerleading. Eliana's resilience inspires others, and she's grateful for a second chance at a pain-free childhood.
