Keith Meade
Osteoarthritis Arthritis
Adult Honoree

In January 2022, Keith was diagnosed with osteoarthritis after experiencing numbness, pins-and-needles, and throbbing pain in his left arm for a year. Luckily, Keith had just joined the Arthritis Foundation as VP of Integrated Marketing a year prior, so he was in the right place at the right time. He was able to get assistance from an occupational therapist on staff who taught him the importance of the right posture during the workday.

Keith's proactive approach included six months of physical therapy and guidance from a chiropractor. By prioritizing posture, diet, and exercise, he successfully managed the daily pain.

It is so easy for adults, especially males like Keith, to just ignore the pain and keep pushing through, thinking it's not that big of a deal or that they can deal with it later. Through the Arthritis Foundation and the help of his healthcare professionals, Keith can say the daily pain is gone, and he is just about back to normal. He acknowledges he has been lucky to battle back against arthritis, at least for now.

Siya Mogulla
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Eleven-year-old Siya was properly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis when she was just 6 years old. The arthritis affects her knees, ankles, shoulders, and hips. Her parents encouraged her to attend Camp Acheaway to meet other children with juvenile arthritis (JA). Siya returned from camp with an abundance of information and confidence. Siya’s goal is to spread awareness about JA and educate others. Her family has been actively participating in the Walk to Cure Arthritis, Jingle Bell Run and JA Family Summit for the last three years. Siya attends middle school and loves playing volleyball, the violin and pursuing her passion for theatre and drama.
