2023 Jingle Bell Run Honorees

 

Gary Crump, MD Rheumatology Associates, PLLC Medical Honoree A native of Louisville, Dr. Crump is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and Bone Densitometry. He joined Dr. Paul Schneider to form Rheumatology Associates, PLLC, in 1988. He has served as Laboratory Director of their COLA-certified lab for twenty years. His practice interests include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, SLE, and gout. Currently involved in a nationwide pilot project on population-based disease management of RA, Dr. Crump is widely published and has been an invited lecturer both worldwide. He educates other physicians and is a consultant to pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Crump is the father of two grown sons, Robert and Matthew, and an adopted son, Edmond. Outside of work, he and his wife Nancy enjoy cooking and travel. His hobbies are golf, and riding and showing American Saddlebred horses.

 

Rilee Bone & Molly Preston AOII Young Adult Honorees Rilee Bone was diagnosed with arthritis in 2021 after experiencing severe migraines and jaw pain. She joined AOII in September 2021 soon after her diagnosis and is thankful for the work she’s been able to do for the Arthritis Foundation, and even more thankful for all that AOII has done for her throughout her arthritis journey. Rilee recently began her first year of law school at the University of Louisville and remains extremely dedicated to her work with the Arthritis Foundation and Jingle Bell Run. She will be having jaw surgery to replace her jaw joints and relieve pressure from around her nerves. Molly Preston was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) at the age of 11, shortly after she was diagnosed with an extremely rare chronic bone disease called CRMO, with JIA in her elbow joint and CRMO almost everywhere else. Her mobility has been limited, and at one point her arm was stuck at a 90° angle. She has experienced severe pain that spanned her whole body. Despite numerous surgeries she considers herself lucky to have had amazing rheumatologists. She attended the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) conference her freshman year of high school and was able to spend time with some of the most incredible minds in rheumatology who wanted to know what she had to say. She still struggles daily with pain, and her right elbow will never straighten out. She is happy to be part of AOII whos philanthropy is the Arthritis Foundation and changed her life.
