Catie Guerin
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Catie is a 14-year-old entering high school, leading a typical teenage life. She enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, reading, knitting, baking, and spending time in Narragansett, RI. At age 4, Catie was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and at age 10, she developed CNS sensitization pain syndrome, resulting in constant pain every day.

Catie maintains an incredibly positive attitude, focusing on what she can do rather than her limitations. Under the guidance of her remarkable health care providers, Catie has persevered and learned the importance of self-advocacy. Her annual week at Camp Dartmouth Hitchcock provides a chance to connect with peers in the rheumatic disease community. Dedicated to spreading awareness, Team Candy Catie has been participating in Jingle Bell Runs since 2014. Catie aspires to become a nurse and help others in the pediatric community.
