Eric Orlowsky, MD
AOCC
Medical Honoree

Dr. Orlowsky is a board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, completed residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and Rheumatology Fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. During his last year, he served as chief rheumatology fellow.

After practicing in both Pittsburgh, PA and Raleigh-Durham, Dr. Orlowsky joined AOCC in Charlotte almost two years ago.

Growing up with a mother with severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA), he saw first-hand how this can significantly impact patients’ lives as well as their families. He is very excited to partner with the Arthritis Foundation who provides support and practical information for those living with arthritis.

Harper Sinha
Idiopathic Arthritis
Young Adult Honoree

Harper was diagnosed with idiopathic arthritis in 2022 at age 17. For the prior two years Harper knew something was wrong. In 2020, she developed severe joint pain in her hips which spread to her knees, ankles, neck, and shoulders within months. After many doctors’ appointments and tests, Harper was diagnosed with enthesitis, a type of idiopathic arthritis. Harper’s current daily medications help reduce her pain, but she still suffers from joint pain daily. She has found joy in new lower impact activities in the community to stay involved. She is excited to work with the Arthritis Foundations, share her story, and help others with arthritis.

Ally Claire Duggan
Juvenile Arthritis
Young Adult Honoree

Ally Claire Duggan, an 18 yr old Juvenile Arthritis Fighter, and this is her story. In 2015, when she was 9 years old, she went to the orthodontist to get fitted for braces. During that appointment, Ally Claire experienced pain when she tried to open her mouth fully. The orthodontist recommended they see a temporomandibular join (TMJ) specialist, which is the main joint of Ally Claire's body affected by arthritis. After looking the x-rays, the TMJ specialist referred the family to a pediatric rheumatologist which was Dr. Vora. She diagnosed Ally Claire with juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Fowler
Idiopathic Arthritis
Dog Honoree

This year we would like to honor Fowler (12 years young), to serve as our furry ambassador for the Jingle Bell Run Charlotte, representing all four-legged family members living with arthritis. This super chonky chonk loved people, belly rubs, and treats - in that order. He was adopted in 2020 and is loved and cherished beyond words by his family, friends, and neighbors.

Sadly, Fowler recently crossed the rainbow bridge due to his progressive arthritis. He will be with us in heart and spirit.
