Lyla Dobkin Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Youth Honoree Lyla’s arthritis began with a swollen knee in November 2020. She was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis in February 2021 at the age of three. After her diagnosis, Lyla received a cortisone shot in her knee and was in remission until contacting Covid in June 2022 and developing uveitis. She has been managing her uveitis with multiple daily eye drops and weekly Methotrexate injections. Lyla loves playing games, Roblox, and Barbies with her big sister Desiree. She hopes to become a video game designer or doctor when she is older. Her parents hope that further research will help children struggling with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Lyla hopes for a cure for arthritis so she, her friend, and her aunt don’t have to take shots anymore. To support or join Lyla, please visit her teams fundraising page today! |
