Dr. Boone is a proud native of Versailles, KY. He performed his undergraduate studies at Centre College in Danville, KY, graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He received his M.D. at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, where he was also elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. He completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and subsequent fellowship in Rheumatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He has published research in systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis and bone health, and has presented his work multiple times at the American College of Rheumatology’s Annual Meeting.

Marcia Zihar was diagnosed approximately 12 years ago with Inflamed rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Arthritis impacts her hands mostly, but stiffness is found throughout her body. Recently, she has started noticing trouble swallowing at times, which a rheumatologist said can be a side effect. Marcia takes medication to combat the diseases, along with walking and doing Jazzercise several times a week to keep her strength and maintain mobility.
