Hadley Jayne Klausner
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Hadley was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in the summer of 2018 when she was 3 years old. She had complained on and off of leg pain, always telling her parents she had “bad knees.” One 4th of July weekend, she woke up with an ankle that had swelled bigger than an orange. Hadley was rushed to urgent care and began the tests. With the guidance her local orthopedic specialists, they quickly found out it was JIA, this began their journey with arthritis.
The Arthritis Foundation has shown them a sense of belonging. From initial education, to materials to give to her school, the support is unwavering. As this year’s Youth Honoree, Hadley wanted to give back and support the Arthritis Foundation as the Foundation continues to be champions of YES!
