2021 Jingle Bell Run Honorees

Anna Richmond
Vanderbilt
Medical Honoree

Anna Richmond was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee after graduating from nursing school to start her career at Vanderbilt. While working on her Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner degree she did a rotation through pediatric rheumatology and absolutely loved the patients and providers. She joined the Department of Pediatric Rheumatology at Vanderbilt as a Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She has volunteered at Camp Ache-away and Teen Retreat over the years. Seeing the patients form relationships with their peers and thrive at camp is one of her favorite Arthritis Foundation activities.

Dr. Eric Bowman
Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Orthopaedic Honoree

Dr. Bowman is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he is a Sports Medicine Surgeon caring for injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle. He serves as head team surgeon for the Nashville Sounds, and assists with care for the Nashville Predators, Nashville Public Schools, and Vanderbilt University athletics. A native of Ohio, he eventually made it Tennessee for Orthopaedic residency at Campbell Clinic in Memphis and completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe in Los Angeles. He now lives in Franklin and enjoys staying active with his wife and 3 girls.

Kristen Havey
Psoriatic Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Kristen had never heard of psoriatic arthritis until her diagnosis at age 26. Within days of her first swollen joints, she could no longer walk. She is so grateful for medicine, and will never take walking for granted again! While the pain she experiences serves as a constant reminder of the disease, Kristen tries to focus on the positives, like her amazing children and incredible husband. She has found her passion and loves being an attorney. Most of all, her faith in God gives her hope for the future. Kristen hopes to help and encourage others struggling with this disease.

MC Fernandez
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Child Honoree

MC is smart, loves pizza, jokes, running, and most of all ballet. She is a self-proclaimed ballerina that loves to rock out. Looking at her there are no indications that she is one of 300,000 kids with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and that’s the way she prefers it. MC has chosen the Jingle Bell run as a way to share her story without focusing on herself.

MC was two and a half the weekend her knee swelled, and they found themselves at Vanderbilt Children’s. After just a couple tumultuous days Vanderbilt’s Pediatric Rheumatology team explored all of the possible causes of her pain, ultimately settling on JA.
