Deb Constien
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Deb has been a mover and shaker for the arthritis community for over 15 years. She first got involved through her local walk event. “My husband Tim and son Jacob would show their support by heading out there with me year after year,” she recalls. “The Arthritis Foundation has become like a second family for me. The connections you make with other people who just understand what you’re going through is amazing.” “Everyone needs to keep rallying around this flagship event and get involved, but in a different and safe way.”

Addison Dart
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Child Honoree

Addison’s journey with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pauciarticular) began in 2011 when she was just eighteen months old. She has endured various treatments, labs, MRI’s, weekly injections, steroids, and bouts with uveitis. Because Addison was diagnosed so young, she never allowed her condition to prevent her from doing exactly what she wanted to do. She has always been adventurous, fun-loving, independent and ambitious. She is an active child and loves swimming, gymnastics and dance. Addison is now eleven and has been in remission for seven years. She now only sees her rheumatologist on an as-needed basis. Addison words of wisdom: “Don’t let arthritis get you down. You’re strong!”
