2019 Jingle Bell Run Honorees

Luella Campbell
Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

The 2019 Tulsa Jingle Bell Run Youth Honoree is Luella (Lulu) Campbell. Lulu is seven years old and is from Coweta, Oklahoma, and was diagnosed at age 6 with Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. Lulu spent several months with swollen knees and ankles and complaining of leg pain and needed assistance with getting up, walking, and everyday activities. Despite the pain, Lulu has an amazing team of doctors who have worked together to give her the best treatment possible. She is now taking medications to help control her SJIA and is able to be a happy kid doing kid activities.

Lulu’s favorite colors are blue and pink. She loves to swim, play basketball and soccer, and FaceTime her best friend. She loves animals and dreams of having her own pony. Lulu wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.

Lulu and her family are dedicated to bringing awareness that “Kids Get Arthritis Too.” Helping the Arthritis Foundation raise funds to use for research and resources for all those affected by arthritis has become very important to Luella and her family. Lulu’s wish is that everyone living with arthritis can live their healthiest and happiest lives as a Champion of YES.
