What is it: Due to overwhelming support for CCC 20 amidst challenging circumstances, we have seized an opportunity to create the Remote Rider Challenge to be known as RR X CCC Challenge. The Remote Rider option enables us to extend the CCC experience to anyone who cannot join the CCC Tour in person. As of today, we are still working hard to plan an in-person CCC Tour from San Francisco to Los Angeles this October. The RR X CCC just offers an alternative way to stay involved with your CCC community on your terms by riding your favorite local roads or even your trainer.
How does it work? The RR X CCC Challenge has more flexibility than the traditional CCC Tour. The Remote Rider Challenge will run from October 3 to November 1, during these 30 days you are encouraged to log miles where you can and share your efforts! You’ll earn swag and prizes while supporting the Arthritis Foundation’s mission to help 1 in 4 adults and 300,000 kids live their best lives.
The RR X CCC Challenge experience: Join us for CCCBYOB Social Hours (bring your own beverage), online drawings, social media fun and don’t forget to aim high for our RR X CCC Challenge levels and see recognition for individuals and teammates on our leaderboards. Enjoy the spirit of comradery with the CCC family, meet new friends and reconnect. Keep an eye on our CCC FB and Instagram channels to see what others are up to all month long and don’t forget to use the #RRXCCC when sharing your photos/videos.
How to sign up: Registration for the RR X CCC Challenge opens July 1, is free and open to anyone 18 and over. If you are already registered, but cannot ride with us in person this year, please contact Amanda or Shannon and we will switch you to the RR X CCC option. Remote Riders who have paid a registration fee for 2020 will receive a comp code for 2021 CCC registration.
We are incredibly grateful to you for your continued fundraising and ongoing support. Donations are non-refundable as they are put to work immediately and enable the Arthritis Foundation to provide critical programs and resources right now to the arthritis community. Even in these unprecedented times you are funding vital services like our virtual Camp Esperanza: Teen Leadership Session this summer. By all accounts, the life-changing experience of camp transcended the limitations of a virtual format as you can see in this spirited photo. Programs such as this are Why We Ride and are more important now than ever.
