The Arthritis Foundation’s original Jingle Bell Run is a fun way to get decked out and be festive, while racing to raise funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability.

Event Schedule

Sunday, December 4, 2022

  • 7:30 - 8:50 a.m. - Event day check-in, registration opens
  • 8:30 a.m. - Kids Dash
  • 9:00 a.m. - 5K Timed Starts
  • 9:02 a.m. - 5K Untimed Starts
  • 9:05 a.m. - 5K Timed Competitive Walk and 1 Mile Starts
  • 9:10 a.m. - 1 Mile Starts
  • 10:15 a.m. - Post-race Ceremony
  • 11:00 a.m. - Event Concludes
  • Costumes are encouraged! Costume Contest Award Categories: Group, Adult, Youth, Ugly Sweater Adult, Ugly Sweater Youth
  • Course Information: There are two routes (5k and 1-Mile). The 5k timed race will start promptly at 9:00am. Please listen for announcements concerning your start time.

5K Untimed – Includes shirt and jingle bells.

Virtual Jingler - Can’t attend the event, but still want to be part of the fun? Choose this option to receive a shirt and fundraise for a cure!

Registration fees and donations cannot be refunded. Your fundraising dollars are put to work immediately and enable the Arthritis Foundation to continue critical programs and services in our community.

Packet Pickup

Saturday, December 3
2:00pm - 6:00pm
Kankakee Community College

We encourage everyone to register in advance, but walk-up registrations are welcome (both at packet pickup on Saturday and at the event on Sunday). With your registration, everyone receives a participant shirt, a bib number and jingle bells for your shoes.

Event Day Details

  • Parking Information: Plenty of parking is available in the lot outside the student center.
  • Strollers welcome
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Costumes are encouraged!
  • Course Information: There are two routes (5k and 1-Mile). The 5k timed race will start promptly at 9:00am. Please listen for announcements concerning your start time.

  • There is also a kid’s fun-run that will be held outside, prior to the other races. The start/finish line is the same for all runners/walkers.

  • Award categories: The top three male and female winners overall will receive an award, along with the top three male and female winners in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

Activities

Make sure to partake in all of the fun activities pre-and post-race (all of which are indoors!).

  • Get a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
  • Enjoy food and beverages post race, including bananas provided by Jewel, pizza provided by Chicago Dough, soup from The Bennett-Curtis House, water provided by Culligan, Pepsi Sport Drink and hot chocolate from Oberweis.
  • Kids activities including creating an ornament, write a letter to Santa, and holiday coloring sheets.
  • Arthritis Warriors can pick up a colorful lei to demonstrate how many people are impacted by the disease.
  • If you are dressing in costume, be sure to participate in our costume contest.
