Harper Elliott Poly Arthralgia and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Youth Honoree Harper, age 10, from Omaha, is stable, but has continual pain in her legs and joints. While some days are difficult, she works through the pain with a smile on her face. She is an ambassador and top fundraiser for Sofia’s Helping Hand. They help kids who are diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and connective tissue disorders. Last summer she raised over $1,000 for the organization at her lemonade stand! The arthritis foundation has given her reassurance that she is not alone. It can be hard to be the only kid she knows with these health and pain issues, so knowing there are others like her helps her cope. She became an honoree to help raise awareness. “I think the more I can learn the more I can help and spread knowledge to those around me.” Join or support Harper and her team, Fa La La La Friends on her fundraising page. |
