Robin Mayhall, APR, is a senior communication strategist with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, where she’s worked since August 2003. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin and was accredited in public relations in 1998. She is currently vice president of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Robin was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis shortly after her 21st birthday. Now 52, she has had both knees and both hips replaced and frequently uses a wheelchair. She is a disability rights advocate and the vice president of Blue Cross’ disabled employees resource group. She has gone through some tough times, but she stays strong with the support of friends, family, and the Arthritis Foundation.

Makaylah Ledet
Polyarticular Juvenile
Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree


Five-year old Makaylah Ledet was diagnosed with polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis in 2019. She enjoys being a kindergartener, dancing, singing, and playing with her brother. She also loves unicorns and anything pink or purple. JIA does not stop her from achieving her goals or from being a kid. She is a strong, brave girl that lights up any room with her beautiful smile and personality. She is honored and excited to be Louisiana's 2022 Walk to Cure Arthritis Youth Honoree!
