Kristen Gautier
Psoriatic Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Kristen Gautier, a wife and mother of two awesome little boys, is a school counselor in Jackson, Missouri. She was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. She first started experiencing symptoms about three years ago. After examining the timeline, she realized it was likely something she had dealt with most of her life undiagnosed. The symptoms were sudden and severe but was told at the time it was due to pregnancy. The symptoms went away about a month after her son was born but returned more severe this time. She was unable to take care of herself or her child independently. This was the first time she saw a rheumatologist to investigate options and treatment plans. Currently on medication with occasional flare ups, Kristen is learning more about this disease and how to best navigate this new normal.
