Stephanie Groff
Rheumatoid Arthritis
2025 Adult Honoree

Stephanie was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2024, at the age of 33, after years of unexplained symptoms. Although this past year has been challenging, Stephanie has completely transformed her health with diet changes, exercise, meditation, energy healing and her faith. She has also worked with a rheumatologist who has assisted her with a treatment regimen.

She shares her story in hopes of inspiring others suffering from a chronic illness to courageously face their diagnosis and embrace the strength of the body and mind to heal.

Stephanie is a family physician at Poolesville Family Practice in Montgomery County. She enjoys running, traveling to national parks, camping in her “skoolie,” and spending time with her husband and 2 German Shepherds.

Molly Joyce
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Shortly after learning to walk, Molly began to prefer crawling and being carried more often, especially in the morning. Her spirit and enthusiasm were still strong, but something was different. She just couldn’t tell her family "what." After months of specialist appointments Molly was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Over the next year, she bravely endured doctor’s appointments and changes in medications, steroids, and injections to properly control her joint inflammation.

Molly’s symptoms are now stable, thanks to her incredible team of nurses and doctors. She is a vibrant and compassionate three-year-old, and lives her life to the fullest. She lets nothing hold her back and inspires all of us.
