Walk to Cure Arthritis is the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide signature event that unites communities across the country to put an end to arthritis. We aren't just helping the millions of people with arthritis to live better; we're charting the course to a cure.

Event Schedule

Saturday, June 7, 2025

This year’s walk is a one-mile route beginning and ending at Stars and Stripes Park pavilion at the big green arch. Festivities will take place beginning at 8:30a.m. Vendor tables, activities and program will happen under and around the pavilion.

  • 8:30 a.m.          Pre-Walk Festivities begin!
  • 9:20 a.m.          Opening Remarks
  • 9:45 a.m.          Dog Costume Contest
  • 10:00 a.m.        Walk Begins (1 or 2-mile option)
  • 11:00 a.m.        Post-event celebration
  • 12:00 p.m.        Walk site closes

Pre-Walk Festivities
This year’s Walk will feature complimentary snacks and water.
 
  • Bring your dog in their most dapper outfit (on a leash) and participate in the Dog Costume Contest – Winner wins a Free Bark Box. 
  • JA families can learn more about our family connect group and upcoming JA events. 
  • In the kids’ zone, kiddos can create their own custom tote bag.
  • Learn about YMCA arthritis friendly classes.
  • Visit the Abbvie and Johnson and Johnson Booths to learn more about their treatment options.
  • Learn how to advocate with the Arthritis Foundation to improve healthcare access.
  • Get resources and information, and some AF swag at our Warrior area! 
  • Enjoy a post-event celebration with cake!
  • Kids can get festive for the walk at our face painting booth!
  • Outdoor games, caricature paintings, balloons for kids, and more!
 
Registration

Online registration for the event will close at 10 am on June 7th , 2024. All participants, including children, must be registered to participate in the Walk or any activities associated with it. Day of registration and check-in will open the morning of the Walk at 8:30 a.m.
 

Donations
  • If you must turn in money the morning of the Walk, please convert any cash donations into a check or money order for the safety and security of all those involved. 
  • Any mail-in donations can be made to: Arthritis Foundation (make sure you note if this donation is to be made to a team or individual)
  • Online donations can be made at www.walktocurearthritis.org/okc. 

Earn a T-shirt and other prizes

Raise $100 or more to receive a Walk to Cure Arthritis T-shirt. Other prizes available at higher fundraising levels. If you plan to turn in money the morning of the Walk, please convert any cash donations into a check or money order. Remember, all donations to the Arthritis Foundation are 100% tax-deductible!

 

Parking

Event day parking is available for FREE. There is parking located all around the park. 
 

Dogs

Dogs are welcome at this event! Please make sure that a) dogs are always leashed and b) you provide sanitary bags as you take your dogs on the walking trail. We will also provide a Dog Zone area presented by Zoetis, which will have treats and water bowls, so that your furry friends can stay hydrated and replenished! Bark Box has provided a one- month box for the winner of our Furry Friends Fashion Show contest!
 

Inclement Weather

Unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate. In the event of inclement weather, we will post any cancellations or postponements on our Walk to Cure Arthritis Facebook Group. We will also make every effort to call all volunteers and to email all participants. Please DO NOT check the website, as we don’t have the ability to update that in a timely fashion.
