Thank you for taking the time to look at mine and Carter’s fundraising page. We hope that you will support us.
Carter is my grandson and he started experiencing severe symptoms at the age of 3. At times he was in so much pain he would let you touch him and just cried. Carter’s diagnoses took doctors about 9 months before they were able to determine that he had juvenile arthritis.
As his grandfather I have committed to helping to make a difference in his life and in the life’s of other children and adult Arthritis patients by participating in the Arthritis Foundation’s 525 Mile Bike Ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles called The California Coast Classic. 2019 will be my 7th year in a row participating in the event and raising money to help find a cure.
For me it was a simple choice to do this ride year after year. I ride because I love my grandson and want to make a difference in his life and the life’s of the 300,000 children in the US that also suffer from this horrible disease. I ride in honor of my grandson and with the determination to help find a cure for the disease he suffers from. It was that simple in the beginning. I was determined to help find a cure so he could be a normal little boy and not have to live a life of pain. Little did I know at the start of that first year, I was about to get a crash course on a disease that before Carter was diagnosed had never given a second thought. What I found out that first year was that there are a bunch of kids out there that are suffering with a disease that, like me in the beginning, no one thinks about and most don’t even know it exist.
We would like to ask that you join with us in our quest to find that cure and at the same time help educate others about its existence.
Thank you for taking the time to read my plea for your help and please donate today and help make a difference.
