2025 Walk to Cure Arthritis Honorees

Ruthanne Morris,
MBA Healthcare Administration
Osteoarthritis
Adult Honoree

After a life-changing car accident in the 1980s, Ruthanne suffered severe bone damage and had to relearn how to walk. For over 40 years, she has faced the challenges of osteoarthritis with unwavering strength—never once letting it slow her down.

As a devoted mother of four, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of five, she recently retired after 45 years of service with Indiana University Health. While working full-time, she pursued her education, earning her Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees—all while managing the daily pain of arthritis.

Her resilience, unwavering faith in the Lord, and unstoppable determination inspire everyone around her. She is a true trailblazer, and we are beyond proud to celebrate her journey.

Join us in honoring Ruthanne as she helps lead the fight to conquer arthritis!

Catherine, 17, excels in piano and cello, diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) at 12 after months of mysterious wrist pain which prevented her from playing her instruments. She has faced numerous blood tests, appointments, injections, side effects, and fatigue. Despite these challenges, Catherine persevered. She is now the principal cellist at her school and the Indianapolis Youth Symphony Orchestra and has been chosen for the All State Orchestra. In addition, Catherine has been actively volunteering with Arthritis Foundation and in her local community. Catherine wants to share her story to raise awareness and funds for JA research. Luis Hernandez
CenterWell
Community Champion Honoree

Working at CenterWell has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am deeply passionate about helping seniors improve their health and well-being. Every day, I strive to create a positive impact, ensuring our senior community feels supported, valued, and empowered. My dedication to this work stems from a personal place—losing my grandmother was a turning point in my life. Her passing not only left a void but also ignited a purpose within me. She inspired me to dedicate my career to serving seniors, honoring her legacy by making a difference in the lives of others. At CenterWell, I feel privileged to walk alongside seniors on their journey to better health and to provide the care and compassion they deserve.

Luis is honored to be your 2025 Walk to Cure Arthritis Community Champion Honoree.
