Natalia Mendoza, MD
Pariser Dermatology Specialists
Medical Honoree


Dr. Natalia Mendoza, born in Colombia, graduated from Pontificia Javeriana University in Bogotá. She practices general dermatology at Pariser Dermatology Specialists in Williamsburg, VA. With extensive clinical research experience gained as a dermatology fellow at a leading practice, she has published numerous articles in medical journals and textbooks.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Mendoza is recognized as one of America’s Best Dermatologists by NewsWeek magazine. She lives in Williamsburg with her husband and daughter, combining her passion for dermatology with her commitment to her family and community.

 

 

Dian Calderone, MTX, CPA
Rheumatoid Arthritis

Adult Honoree


Dian Calderone, MTX, CPA recently retired as president of Calderone Abbott PC, Certified /Public Accountants after a 45-year career.  Dian also has a deep commitment to community service and volunteerism. She has served as President of the Board of Sentara Health, The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula, The Junior League of Hampton Roads and The Virginia Board of   Accountancy – and more! 

She lives in Williamsburg, VA and is the proud parent of 2 adult children.  Dian began her rheumatoid arthritis journey 20 years ago when awareness of the disease was just beginning.  Her lifelong love of learning led her to rely heavily on the Arthritis Foundation, Mayo Clinic and the National Institute of Health.  She believes raising awareness of these resources and advocacy efforts will lead to earlier diagnosis and better outcomes.

 

 

Isabelle
Polyarticular Juvenile Arthritis
Youth Honoree


Isabelle began her arthritis journey in the summer of 2021 at age 9 after being diagnosed with polyarticular juvenile arthritis. She started with one joint in her toe and one finger that turned into both wrist, thumbs and a knee. Fortunately, infusions have improved Isabelle’s joints.

She has not let her diagnosis slow her down. She enjoys hanging out with friends, cheer, chorus, and trips to her local theme park to ride rollercoasters.

 

Aspyn
Oligoarticular Arthritis
Youth Honoree


Aspyn is an energetic, fun, loving seven year old that was diagnosed with oligoarticular arthritis in 2019. Her journey started after a trampoline accident that not only wouldn’t heal but continued to get worse. It took six months and many tests to receive a diagnosis. Aspyn’s arthritis affects both knees and both ankles.

Aspyn is now doing well with medication. She loves being able to run around while playing with friends, swimming, hanging out with her family, and playing Roblox.
