Jacquelyn Smith, MD
Rheumatology Associates, PLLC
Medical Honoree

Dr. Jacquelyn Smith is from Lexington, Kentucky and received her MD from the University of Kentucky. She completed internal medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She was selected to be one of the chief residents the year after completing residency. She then completed rheumatology fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC where she also participated in research involving osteoarthritis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. She enjoys rheumatology because of the ability to form long-lasting relationships with patients and because of the complexity of the diseases.

Ollie
Pet Arthritis Honoree

Ollie (named after Oliver Queen, the “Green Arrow”) is the best hiking buddy ever.  He and his owner, Angela, love hiking and bikejoring (where a dog runs in front of a bike, similar to pulling a dogsled).  Sadly, shortly after his 8th birthday, Ollie started slowing down and began yelping whenever he tried to walk down the stairs.  After a couple of veterinary appointments and some x-rays, he was diagnosed with arthritis in his spine.

After a prescription for Rimadyl, Ollie was excited not only to get back out on the trails, but he also is able to participate in bikejoring with his sister!  Come meet our Pet Arthritis Honoree, Ollie, at the Louisville Jingle Bell Run!
