Event Information

The Arthritis Foundation’s original Jingle Bell Run is a fun way to get decked out and be festive, while racing to raise funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability.

Event Schedule

Sunday, December 3, 2023

  • 7:30 – 8:50 a.m. - Packet pick-up and day-of registration, visit sponsor tables
  • 8:30 a.m. - Kids Dash
  • 9:00 a.m. - 5K timed start (Competitive Walk, 5K untimed, and 1 mile to follow immediately)
  • 10:15 a.m. - Post race ceremonies
  • 11:00 a.m. - Event concludes

Packet Pickup

Saturday, December 2 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Kankakee Community College: 100 College Drive, Kankakee, IL 60901

We encourage everyone to register in advance, but walk-up registrations are welcome (both at packet pickup on Saturday and at the event on Sunday). With your registration, everyone receives a participant shirt, a bib number and jingle bells for your shoes.

Event Day Details

  • Pre and post-race activities are conducted indoors
  • Parking Information: Plenty of parking is available in the lot outside the student center.
  • Pets are not permitted
  • Strollers welcome
  • Costumes are encouraged for the costume contest!
  • Course Information: There are two routes (5k and 1-Mile). The 5k timed race will start promptly at 9:00am. Please listen for announcements concerning your start time. • 5k timed • Competitive Walk• 5k untimed • 1-mile
  • There is a Kid’s fun-run that will be held outside, prior to the other races. Pre-registration is not required.
  • The start/finish line is the same for all runners/walkers.
  • Award categories: The top three male and female winners overall will receive an award, along with the top three male and female winners in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

Activities

Make sure to partake in the fun activities pre-and post-race (all of which are indoors!).

  • Get a photo with Santa.
  • Enjoy food and beverages post race, including hot chocolate and soup!
  • Kids activities include writing a letter to Santa, DIY ornaments, and holiday coloring sheets.
  • Arthritis Warriors can pick up a colorful lei to demonstrate how many people are impacted by the disease.
  • If you are dressing in costume, be sure to participate in our costume contest.

Registration fees and donations cannot be refunded. Your fundraising dollars are put to work immediately and enable the Arthritis Foundation to continue critical programs and services in our community.
