2023 Walk to Cure Arthritis Honorees

Shiann Hagan
 Ehlers Danlos Syndrome &
Juvenile Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Shiann’s journey with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) started when she was 16. She walked into a geneticist office and was told she had EDS hyper-mobility, a form of juvenile arthritis. She was also told she would never be able to have children. It took Shiann years to come to terms with the diagnosis. However, today, Shiann and her husband have two beautiful children who may share her diagnosis one day. Shiann is working towards her Master’s degree. She is the reigning Mrs. Holly Springs International 2023 and a contestant for Mrs. North Carolina International 2023. Shiann doesn’t let EDS and JA hinder her life anymore.
