Ava Hall
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Ava Hall is 16 year old from Dexter, Michigan. She was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis in 2020 during the wake of Covid-19. When taking walks she noticed that her knee and ankle joints became enflamed and grew to the size of a bowling ball, and mobility became difficult. She began treatment soon after her diagnosis and went into remission in late 2021. Sadly, in early 2023 she had a flare and has begun treatment since then. This led her to pursue a more prominent role in the search for a cure to arthritis where Ava is able to find support for her disease and indispensable connections with other people afflicted with arthritis. She hopes that wonderful people will continue to contribute to provide care and help create opportunities for people afflicted with her disease.

King
Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis
Animal Honoree

King is a #CanineArthritisWarrior and he is a very special four legged guy. He began having severe fever, joint pain and could no longer walk. He was diagnosed with a canine form of immune-mediated polyarthritis. He was beginning to respond positively to his life with arthritis and then he lost his owner to cancer; he was surrendered to a fantastic group of people at an animal rescue, because he didn’t have anyone to take care of him. They helped him find a foster family whom ultimately adopted him. Because of his arthritis, he will have to take medication for the rest of his life. His new adopted mom is an occupational therapist who also has arthritis, so she understands. She works hard to provide him love, hope, and dignity, so he can live his Best Life. Whether you’re an arthritis warrior like King or his Adopted Mother or care about someone who is, sign up and raise funds for WALK to CURE Arthritis!
