Kristin Lehrer
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Corporate Chair

The fight against arthritis is a personal one for Kristin. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 10 years ago and has been a volunteer and advocate ever since. She has brought her fight for arthritis to Capitol Hill to impact laws that can make a positive difference for those living with arthritis. Supporting various local walks/runs amongst many other efforts over the past decade has been her mission. Being selected as this year’s Corporate Chair combines Kristin’s passion for this work with over 25 years of strong leadership roles which now also includes ownership of a successful business. Kristin is truly humbled being selected as the Orlando Corporate Chair for 2023, as she is looking forward to continuing her drive to help find a cure.

Marissa Ciurleo
Event Chair

Marissa Ciurleo is proud to serve as the 2023 Walk to Cure Arthritis Event Chair in support of the arthritis community. The Arthritis Foundation is very near and dear to her heart. Marissa was born with an extremely rare disorder called trichorhinophalangeal syndrome (TRPS) Type I and Type II. Being diagnosed at six years old, during a time where not much was known about this disorder, she didn't let TRPS affect her on a day to day basis. She is here to be part of the Arthritis Foundation and to help spread the awareness of TRPS.

David Reszel
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Adult Honoree

David Reszel felt weak, frail and unusually tired. Pain started to slowly permeate to many parts of his body. Six weeks later, following many tests and doctor visits, David was diagnosed with rheumatoid Arthritis. Although devastating, David decided to fight along with his doctors’ plan of action and medications available. With a positive mindset, David continued his career in the construction industry and expanded toward remodeling homes. David’s life completely changed in 2003. However, his outlook has remained the same “reach for that fighter within you”. Today David volunteers his time for causes to help others in need, and is proudly serving as Orlando’s Adult Honoree.

Julia Paulsen
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Meet Julia Paulsen. 3 years ago, she started noticing pain in her fingers and knee and was having difficulty doing simple tasks like opening water bottles and playing the game she loves most, softball. After multiple tests and MRI’s, doctors were unsure what was going on and noticed lots of fluid in her joints. She didn’t think anything of it as she always stayed positive. When visiting the rheumatologist for the first time she was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and her journey began. Since then, she is now in remission, back playing softball, her favorite sport and wants to meet others and inspire others and let them know they can get through their difficult times!
