Dr. Suraiya Afroz is a board-certified rheumatologist practicing at Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists – Fox Valley in Neenah, WI.

Dr. Afroz is passionate about taking care of patients and building meaningful relationships with them. She appreciates the continuity of care that comes with treating chronic illnesses and enjoys the challenge of treating rare and complex cases. Continual education about new medications and tools in the field of Rheumatology is also a priority to Dr. Afroz, as she is always looking for new ways to make a positive difference in patients’ lives.

Allison Alberts
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Adult Honoree


Allison Alberts of Sturgeon Bay was diagnosed at age 12 with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Allison got involved with the Arthritis Foundation at the 2015 Jingle Bell Run, then in 2017 as the Young Adult Honoree for the Walk to Cure Arthritis.

“Growing up with JIA has come with many struggles; however, I have had incredible doctors and nurses, along with the support from my family, friends, and the Arthritis Foundation.”

Allison is currently a senior at UW - La Crosse, graduating with a major in biomedical science and minors in chemistry and nutrition. After college, she hopes to go to medical school and become a pediatric rheumatologist.
