Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Young Adult Honoree
Ashlyn Willis is a 20-year-old sophomore Biology major with a Chemistry and Psychology minor in the honors program at Ohio Dominican University. Ashlyn was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis when she was 15 years old, with symptoms for several years before then. Ashlyn got involved with the Arthritis Foundation in 2019 when she began painting Kindness Rocks to raise money for the Foundation. Over the years, through the Walk to Cure Arthritis, Co-chair of the Youth Warrior Committee, the Arthritis Foundation Gala, and more Ashlyn has raised thousands of dollars. She accomplished all this on top of losing mobility in her knees for a year, graduating from high school as Valedictorian with a STEM Honors diploma, entering college, being named Ohio Dominican University’s 2021 Emerging Leader, making the Dean’s List every semester, and losing her mother.
