Cooper Aron Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Teen Honoree Cooper Aron was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis at the age of ten when he was unable to use his hands to grip or his legs to walk. He was in a wheelchair, couldn’t write, and could not play sports: his favorite activity. Cooper’s come a long way in four years with the help of friends, family, medications, and the Arthritis Foundation. Cooper, now 14, plays club volleyball, is on his school’s tennis team, and is taking all honors courses at an academically accelerated school. He wants to ensure he and the 300,000 children in the United States living with juvenile idiopathic arthritis have the ability to say YES to living their best life. |
