C. Lowry Barnes, M.D.
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Medical Honoree 


Dr. C. Lowry Barnes is one of Arkansas’ and the region’s foremost joint replacement experts. He is chair of the UAMS Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Barnes is the president of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has also served as President of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, President of the Southern Orthopaedic Association, President of the Society of Arthritic Joint Surgery, and President of the Arkansas Orthopaedic Society. He has also been honored as the Distinguished Southern Orthopaedist by the Southern Orthopaedic Association, and listed in “Best Doctors” and “Top Doctors in Orthopaedics.”

 

Vinisha Reddy Kota, MD
Rheumatologist
Medical Honoree 


Dr. Vinisha Reddy Kota is a rheumatologist at Baptist Health Specialty Clinic-North Little Rock. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Kota’s practicing health concerns are bone densitometry, joint aspirations, and osteoporosis. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her child, traveling, gardening, and trying new recipes.

 

Jason Cox
Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis
Psoriatic Arthritis
Adult Honoree 


Jason was diagnosed with a severe case of Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1998 at the age of eighteen. It was later determined to be Psoriatic Arthritis in 2017. While battling this disease, the damage from arthritis caused Jason to have fifteen orthopedic surgeries. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Heidi, and their three boys. He hopes to gain awareness of the disease and support for those who battle through it daily. Support Jason on his team fundraising page.

 

Laney Marsh
Polyarticular RF Positive
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Child Honoree 


Laney was diagnosed in the summer of 2021 with polyarticular RF positive juvenile idiopathic arthritis. According to her rheumatologist, Laney's arthritis is an aggressive type. Her friends and family are going ALL IN to do whatever they can to fight for a cure for Laney and everyone else impacted by arthritis. Laney's family is excited to participate in this festive 5k to raise funds to help the Arthritis Foundation search for a cure while providing life-changing information and support to people with arthritis.
