2021 Jingle Bell Run Honorees

 

Kevin C. Andres, MD
Capitol Pain Institute
Medical Honoree


Dr. Andres enjoys working with patients and other providers to optimize patient functioning and care for the musculoskeletal system, especially utilizing outpatient interventional options. Following undergraduate education at Purdue University, Dr. Andres pursued his MD at Indiana University. He then completed an internship at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Indiana University, where he was privileged to serve as Chief Resident. He underwent fellowship training in pain medicine at the University of Louisville. Dr. Andres is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a member of several national organizations. 

 

James M. Brent, MD
Capitol Pain Institute

Dr. James M. Brent completed his training in anesthesiology and pain at the University of Louisville, where he became Board Certified in Anesthesiology. Dr. Brent is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where he also received his undergraduate degree in Biology. He has worked as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Brent has 23 years of experience treating chronic pain patients and enjoys helping those patients using a comprehensive treatment approach and interventional pain procedures. 

 

Richard Lingreen, MD
Capitol Pain Institute
Medical Honoree


Dr. Lingreen has been practicing pain management for 26 years. He is board-certified in anesthesia and addiction and has a subspecialty certification in pain management from the anesthesia board. He enjoys getting to know and interacting with his patients, as well as formulating a plan to make them the happiest and most functional person they can be. Dr. Lingreen created mypainky.com, a website dedicated to informing patients about the pain they may be experiencing, and ways to manage it. 

 

Katie Southern
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Adult Honoree


Katie’s first symptoms were in October of 2020. Katie has rheumatoid arthritis genetic at 48 years of age which she inherited from her dad. Her physician, Dr. Crump and NP, Lindsay, have worked with her to get her arthritis under control. Katie is now able to move better without pain although she does still have morning stiffness. She is able to do things she enjoys such as long walks and hiking without much regret the morning after.
