2021 Walk to Cure Arthritis Honorees

Ann Joslin
Osteoarthritis
Adult Honoree

In 2006 Ann was diagnosed with an aggressive form of osteoarthritis that affected the joints in her fingers. Ann shares that hearing, “there’s nothing you can do about it” from doctors led her to the Arthritis Foundation. She says, “The Arthritis Foundation gave me – a community of people dedicated to providing support, education, resources, advocacy and research.”

While everyday tasks are painful, Ann is humbled by people with more devastating forms of arthritis. She says, “As a community, we are Champions of Yes! Let’s focus our efforts on things we CAN do, and not on our limitations. Join our Walk to Cure Arthritis and be a part of a brighter future!”

Join or support Ann and her team, Tampa Bay Boardwalkers, in the fight against arthritis.

Aidan Fagan
Enthesitis-Related Arthritis
Child Honoree

Aidan is 11 and enjoys spending time with his family watching movies, riding bikes, and going to church. After months of excruciating pain, initially thought to be growing pains or orthopedic problems, he was diagnosed with enthesitis-related arthritis last year. He began medications and physical therapy for the inflammation in his leg muscles. In August, a new medication allowed him to function “normally” again. He joined the swim team at LCS and earned a letter in 6th grade! He and his family pray for remission and that with help from God, great doctors, and the Arthritis Foundation a cure will be found for all those suffering with arthritis!

Join or support Aidan and his team, Team AJ, in the fight against arthritis.

Mojo
Dog Honoree

Mojo was adopted from the SPCA 14 years ago. He was an extremely athletic dog who loved to swim, run and go boating. Unfortunately, about two years ago he started to show signs of arthritis. As a result, he has slowed down dramatically. His back legs are very weak, but he still goes on short walks daily to sniff and keep moving. He is a “snalker” or sniff walker as Mojo’s 9-year-old human says. Mojo’s family says, “Every day with Mojo is a gift!” and are proud he is serving as Doggie Honoree because our four-legged family members get arthritis too!
