Elizabeth Bewley
Osteoarthritis
Adult Honoree

Elizabeth was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in her hand at the age of 37. As a professional musician, Elizabeth worried about the implications on her livelihood. Thankfully, by working with a team of doctors to find the right treatments, music is still a key part of Elizabeth’s life.

Elizabeth also stays active through swimming and practicing Shotokan Karate.

The Arthritis Foundation’s events give Elizabeth a safe place to just be herself. She says, “Arthritis is not an excuse to give up, but rather an opportunity to grow in ways beyond our regular consideration. Helping spread those ideas, as well as the acceptance the Arthritis Foundation has offered to me, is very important to me.”
