2020 Walk to Cure Arthritis Honorees

Laken LaMulle
Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis
Youth Honoree

Laken was diagnosed Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 4. He is now 7 years old.   He has handled his diagnosis with courage and strength.  He inspires everyone around him that nothing is too hard to overcome. Most people don't even know that Laken has arthritis until he is in a significant amount of pain. He never complains and is always looking for the positive in every situation. He is so patient and strong through every doctor's appointment, lab work, eye exam and mom's endless questions! He never passes up the chance to be just a kid and not the kid with arthritis!

Dr. Luis Rolan Espinoza
Medical Honoree

Dr. Luis Rolan Espinoza is our 2020 Walk to Cure Arthritis Medical Honoree. In loving memory, we honor his contributions to the international Arthritis community and the many Arthritis Warriors he served in Louisiana. He served as the Chief of Rheumatology at LSUHSC for 30 years. His dedication to his patients and colleagues is evident by the many contributions he made over the years. He was a beacon of hope for patients after Katrina. He opened up a trunk of medicines and served patients with different rheumatologic disorders, for which he received an award from the ACR. I He was always available to care for a complicated patient and shared his knowledge through publications and lectures all over the world.
