2020 Walk to Cure Arthritis Honorees

Terri Foreman
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Adult Honoree

Terri Foreman is an Administrative Assistant with Milan Adult Education.

At the age of 24, she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  She first realized there was a problem when she noticed her finger was swollen and red.  Then it was her wrist.  Then it was her feet.  Terri was stunned with the diagnosis.  “I couldn’t believe it,” she recalled.  “Being so young and being told I had arthritis.  I thought only old people get arthritis.”

Over the years, her disease has progressed.  She has joint damage in her shoulders, ankles, neck, elbows, wrist, hands, fingers, knees, hips, feet and toes.

Natasha Lowry
Oligoarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Child Honoree

Like many two year olds, Natasha Lowry loves being outside, riding her bike, her scooter and swimming. She loves playing in the snow and with her siblings. At just 15 months old, she was diagnosed with Oligoarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.

The diagnosis devasted her family – especially since her Mom, Marie, was also diagnosed when she was just a toddler. Marie knows first-hand the pain her daughter was in – pain that impacted her feet, ankles, and knee. Treatment has included daily medications, weekly injections and physical therapy.

Natasha is an amazing little girl, with an amazing imagination. She does not let her pain stop her from doing the things she loves.
