Dustin Ebbesen is an Underwriting Consultant with CNA Surety, a member of the SD Local Leadership Board and is serving as the Corporate Champion for the 2019 Jingle Bell Run. Dustin’s family includes his wife Kelli, son Evan (8),and daughter Alaina (5).

After Dustin’s nephew was diagnosed with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis at 4 years of age, he realized how little he knew about arthritis and how many misconceptions there were about all the different types that fall under the blanket of arthritis. Dustin’s hope is to help build awareness for research and support for all of his friends and family that live with this disease. Dustin also has several friends that suffer from raynaud’s phenomenon.

Dustin encourages other business and community leaders to learn more about the impact arthritis has on their employee’s health and well-being. “Unless a person lives with arthritis, it’s easy to forget how many friends, family and co-workers deal with this disease on a daily basis. From a minor annoyance to life threatening, there are so many different types out there. (All) arthritis can have effects far beyond pain and stiffness in the joints and some forms are life threatening. Research and development for new care and treatment are on the cusp of great change and can have a major impact in the community around us.”

Dustin favorite activities include spending time with my family or getting a good workout in with friends and of course, telling others about the Arthritis Foundation and the Jingle Bell Run.

Dustin appreciates that CNA Surety recognizes that employees who are engaged in their community are also more engaged in their workplace and chooses to align their company support with the events and organizations that provide the greatest impact for their employee’s community.
