Event Schedule
- Day 0 - Friday, September 20 from 1:00 6:00 p.m. - San Francisco packet pick-up at host hotel
- Day 1 - Saturday, September 21: San Francisco to Santa Cruz
READY...SET...PEDAL! Cyclists begin in San Francisco, into the tiny town of Davenport (stop for a sandwich or pie!) and catch a tailwind into Santa Cruz, completing a total of 85 miles and 5100 feet of elevation. - Day 2 - Sunday, September 22: Santa Cruz to Monterey
This leg of the tour measures 51 miles/2000 feet and takes you through the dramatic landscape of the California countryside, into Cannery Row before resting for the night in picturesque Monterey. - Day 3 - Monday, September 23: Monterey to Big Sur
Say goodbye to Monterey and head south. A short 47 miles/2800 feet will bring you into a spectacular landscape of Big Sur forest and incredible vistas. Stick your feet in the river at the River Inn just two miles before camp! - Day 4 - Tuesday, September 24: Big Sur to Cambria*
As you wind your way through the scented forests of Big Sur, you will continue into the bike friendly community of Cambria after passing the world-renowned Hearst Castle. Make sure to stop and taste the olallieberry pie. At this point, you've cycled a total of 68 miles and nearly 6100 feet over the Twin Sisters!- Event directors have been monitoring the closures on Highway 1 and in constant communication with local and state officials since last year. Should the traditional Day 4 route remain closed, the event will detour riders around the closure on an alternate riding route or a bus transfer from Big Sur to Paso Robles.
- Day 5 - Wednesday, September 25: Cambria to Oceano
Absolutely beautiful! If the pedaling doesn't take your breath away, the scenery will! At 58 miles/1700 feet, this stage takes us along world famous shoreline through Cayucos, Morro Bay and into Pismo Beach. - Day 6 - Thursday, September 26: Oceano to Buellton
As you make your way through the wine country made famous by the movie Sideways, you will enjoy quiet roads and beautiful vineyards. After 66 miles and 3600 feet of incredible riding, enjoy local tastings during social hour and a fantastic dinner to celebrate your journey to date. - Day 7 - Friday, September 27: Buellton to Ventura
This spectacular day winds through Solvang, into Santa Barbara through Hope Ranch, then along the coast on the bike path and finishing at the beach in Ventura after 87 miles and 3400 feet.
- Day 8 - Saturday, September 28: Ventura to LA
Congratulations! After the final 63 miles and 1800 feet of rolling hills along the gorgeous coast into Malibu, you cross the finish line as a group in Los Angeles to fanfare and an emotional welcome. A victory party will help you celebrate this unique trip and reflect on your outstanding achievement.
