Alexis Sandler
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Child Honoree

Alexis is 10 years old and loves to cook, dance, do art projects, play piano, and participate in Girl Scouts. After riding down a slide, she started having arm pain, which led to many x-rays and an MRI, and she was finally diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at the age of 7. Alexis enjoys walking as part of her treatment regimen. She loves going to Camp Boggy Creek. Alexis and her family look forward to the day when she is pain-free. She appreciates the love and support from her family and friends. Her goal is to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation to find a cure so other kids do not have to feel the pain and to one day be a pediatric rheumatologist.

Allie is 21 years old and a junior at the University of North Florida studying business marketing. She loves being super involved on her campus with her sorority and Dance Marathon. If she's not on campus you will probably find her at the beach or hanging out with her friends. Allie was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at the age of 10 and dealt with countless doctors appointments, MRI tests, sick days from school, and weekly shots. Allie went into remission in 2014. Even though Allie is in remission she still battles with chronic pain every day. Allie will be going to work at Camp Boggy Creek this summer. She hopes to be a role model for kids battling chronic illnesses.
