Jenna
Juvenile Dermatomyositis
Youth Honoree

Jenna is 14 years old and lives with her mom, dad, and 2 sisters. Her favorite things to do are play with her rabbit, Farrah, and walk her dog, Harleigh. She was diagnosed with juvenile dermatomyositis in April 2018 when she was 11. Jenna used to be very weak and could barely get up from sitting on the floor but with her current medications, she is more mobile though long walks are still hard and tiring. She does have a lot of ups and downs but Jenna is grateful to be supported by her family and friends, especially as she looks forward to starting high school. She hopes someday soon they will find a cure for her disease.
