2021 Jingle Bell Run Honorees

Giuliana Jercovich
Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Child Honoree

In the summer of 2020, Giuliana developed a very swollen finger. She never complained about it, but was unable to bend or use her finger. Doctors were puzzled by her “mystery finger,” and several more months passed before she was diagnosed with polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). By the time Giuliana was diagnosed, she also had inflammation in her neck, knee, and another finger. It was too painful to lay down to sleep, and she lost interest in eating, playing, or being her fun-loving self. She has been through numerous medical tests, rounds of blood work, and has learned to take several medications and injections. After many months, the medicines have helped! Support Giuliana on her personal fundraising page.
