Dr. Michael Kent, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Houston Methodist Hospital Sugar Land, who treats both children and adults. He focuses on a wide range of problems, ranging from acute sports injuries to chronic degenerative conditions and knee arthritis. Dr. Kent performs total knee replacement and knee and shoulder arthroscopy. He has been on the medical team for the Sugar Land Skeeters and has been the club physician for Eclipse Soccer Club and treats runners and endurance athletes at Texas Running Company in Sugar Land. Dr. Kent knows firsthand how debilitating a disease arthritis can be. He is a passionate supporter of the Arthritis Foundation in our fight against arthritis. Nico is 10 and was diagnosed with JIA in 2019. He loves to play sports and take ninja warrior classes with his brother and his Dad. He has not let his arthritis keep him from doing the things he loves and accomplishing his goals, including his recent accomplishment of getting his black belt in Tae kwon do. When not outside playing kickball, football, or swimming, he loves playing games with his family and chasing around his two cats.
