 Dr. Manish Patel has been in private practice in Central Texas since 2001. Specialties include shoulder replacements, rotator cuff repairs, shoulder arthroscopy, elbow reconstructions, wrist fractures, and hand reconstruction surgeries. He graduated Valedictorian at the University of Texas and went on to graduate from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a five-year residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently a partner at Southwest Orthopaedic Group and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at The University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Patel is happily married and has three beautiful daughters. He loves to cook, spend time with friends and family, and play golf.

Krendra Harralson, retired Sergeant First Class, served 20 years in the Army. She joined the military in 1997, just after her 17th birthday, as a Combat Medic. She later deployed to Iraqi and then Afghanistan, where she was battlefield promoted to Staff Sergeant. Krendra was medically retired just a few years after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Mrs. Harralson serves on the Arthritis Foundation’s local Board as the Military and Veteran Engagement Chair. With a growing burden of arthritis among the active duty and veteran population, Mrs. Harralson has a passion for advocacy within those communities. With advances in science and technology, we have the potential to make dramatic strides in combatting arthritis
Prior to her rheumatoid arthritis (RA) diagnosis in 2014, Glenda was an active wife and mother of two boys, ages 11 and 13. She spent years living with fatigue, numbness, pain, and lots of falls. Glenda has been on multiple medications, some with horrible side effects. She is thankful to have discovered the tools and resources provided by the Arthritis Foundation. These resources have empowered her to control what she can with diet and exercise recommendations, and she has been able to connect with others that understand this invisible disease. She hopes sharing her story will lead others to seek out the resources and support that are available to them through the Arthritis Foundation.
Mackenzie Jackson-Porter is a 15-year-old JA Warrior that was diagnosed just prior to her 2nd birthday. She loves to dance, has been a Girl Scout since the first grade and excels at math. She is thankful to Dr. Orrock and the team at Dell Children’s Specialty Hospital for helping get her arthritis under control and well managed. She is happy to serve as your Teen Honoree to help raise awareness and funds that are much needed in the fight against JA!
