Macy Bueling Macy has lived with a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) since age ten. He didn’t let it slow him down in high school, and participated in cross country and track, and became active in many outdoor activities, including snowboarding. By the time he reached early adulthood, his medications included heavy “gap” drugs, including Prednisone between biologic response modifiers like Humira. Finally settling on infusions, however the impact of high-dose steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are lasting and severe. Some days Macy has spent completely bedridden and immobile. However, after starting Remicade, his life has been on a steady path to solid recovery. While in need of hip replacement, he’s still managed to ride mountain bikes, snowboard and carry on without complaints like a true warrior.
